Hey guys having some trouble understanding my code reader, im showing fault code 43 but cant seem to what 43 means, my car is a 1989 318is
-
I know I had them at one time, but my computer crashed and I lost all the data.
Here's something to look at: http://www.e38.org/e32/bmw%20code%20defaut.pdf

Thanks man, the trouble is fault 43 code, does that mean 1243 which is a camshaft pulse sensor but my car runs fine.
-
I believe that's an OBDII code. What code reader are you using? For example, Peake Research says their reader is for US market cars and you may have to experiment to find the correct table.

I had an '89 318is when I lived in Italy and I used a Snap-On MT2500 to read codes.
-
Yes thats my trouble because i have a euro car and the peake says for us, dident realize there would be a differance.
-
with this puzzle... I'd call my local BMW dealer service and ask them what code 43 means?
-
I bet they ask me my visa # first ;D
-
I'll call my guys on Monday and let you know their answer...
