Question is how reliable is m42b18 with turbo. Can someone share some experience. How long it last's with 1bar pressure and stock engine.
-
Stock m42 is good for low boost applications. But your question of reliability is a good one. Best way to tell is do a thorough compression/leak down test to check the health of your engine. The m42 crank is great and can handle a fair amount of power because its forged, the m44 is a different beast good for N/A but has its limits which are easily reached when going F/I.

My m42 is fully rebuilt and only 2000km on it after rebuild. My friend here in estonia turboed m40b18 and it's quick as hell. 1.5bar boost and stock engine. But i think the engine won't last very long. I want to turbocharge my m42 but i want it to last very long :) my coal is beat 325 in 1/4 drag. And thats it. I dont want it to be like m3 :D

How big bore m42b18 can handle? 92mm is too big?
-
Hi
86 mm for forced induction application is the max!
Cheers

deem thats small, I was thinging to just overbore it and turbocharge it. But i can bore it only 2mm :( 1882cc then.

how much i have to bore over 86mm to fit 86mm pistons
