hi new here, I'm Sion and i come from Britain, Ive got a e36 compact with a standard m44, has a 4.45cwp with lsd full roll cage I have big plans for it in the future. Itll be a slow project but i need to gain the info to go ahead with the plans
I plan on trying to get around the 180bhp out of a n/a 4cyl engine. Ideally id like it to be quite torquey, that is if m42/m44 go with torque haha
I have done some research but its quite confussing.
are m42/m44 heads interchangeable? Is it possible to swap the m44 for m42? or is the wiring a headache? as i thought i read the m42 head is stronger? what mods can i get with a m44 as a base?
I was looking at fitting cat cams 312 / 304° and the stroking it out to 2.0l as i dont think regulations allow for 2.1. what do i need to do to achive 2.0 with a m44?
also just to add im looking at swapping out the getrag and getting a custom bellhousing built to fit a ford type 9 close ratio box possiply go down a dogbox route
cheers

also i noticed you have thottle bodies fitted? I have to stick to original tb and intake, but i can swap things around from other models, so it seems theirs a mixed view on which intake is best m42/m44 whats everybodys thoughts? also is it a big job to change?
