Hey I am trying to get some others together for a group buy (I am not the one running it but I am participating, and have been wanting this thing for a couple years). I figured lots of people in this subfourm may be interested so hopefully the mods can leave it for a few days.
Basically its a 10mm spacer that sits between the intake manifold and the head. It stops heat from flowing from the head to the intake manifold, reducing intake temps. One guy tested the surface of his intake manifold before and after and found a 60 degree drop!
The kit is $150 shipped and includes longer studs, 2 new gaskets, and some washers.
For more info you can check this thread: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=191828&page=6
If you don't have an account there I can add your name to the list (I am e304me)

I thought the FI folk would be all over this? Cooler intake=more power

I made one myself for way less than that. Bought a stick of phenolic from mcmaster.com, some longer studs I found on realoem and an intake manifold gasket. Traced the gasket and basically used a big rotary tool to machine it out.

Looks interesting. I would be willing to buy but I skimmed through the thread and whats with the dramatic price increases kit went from 50 to 65 then 75..etc.. now 150?

Well for the first batch it was $50, but he didn't realize how much it was going to cost and from then on was $100 I believe. That was 3 years ago. Now it's $150 and includes the 2 intake gaskets that were not included previously.
