Title: m42 rebuild
Post by: ///m42 sport on November 10, 2014, 09:09:10 PM
So after my ordeal with swapping the m42, drove it thi, died on me. Couldnt work on it on the side of the road so towed it to shop. Got a call today that I lost compression on cylinders 2 and 4.  So I'm thinking its time for a rebuild.  Read a little on options as far as upgrades, but I have little experience with engine work.  Have about 3-5K budget to work with and would want to build a reliable daily.    Any upgrades I can afford I would like to do.

Would like some input on what I can do with my budget...

Depending on where you are located you might want to look into the motor that is in the for sale section, "near San Diego"  that G-man posted. Sounds like a hell of a deal!... Skid

Hi m42 sport
What are you starting with m42 m44 e30 e36?
What are you aiming for?

starting with m42. Aim is reliability first then if I can upgrade any parts for hp then I would go ahead and do that.  Not sure on the status of my motor yet....
