Another question regarding parts. I am looking into a new set of spark plug wires and was wondering what experiences people had with various brands. I normally just get Bosch, however I noticed ECStuning had a set for $49 rather than the $100+ Bosch. Is there really a difference?

You should do the coil on plug conversion! Never have to buy plug wires again!!...Skid

I did the larger mm wire Upgrade with "hotter spark" lol from turner ( i laugh because i don't necessarily believe it.) I only went with this because i originally bought a performance chip from them but they COULD NOT find one that worked with my ECU iDK WTF! Instead of hassling with more shipping and refunds etc as they sent me 3 different chips to try over a matter of weeks i said send me your performance wires and lets be done with it (worst 200 spent so far on anything on my car). But I Did notice a difference on my butt dyno ;D, the engine felt crisper and pulled better in higher rpms. It could be because my wires were some what older Or it could be the increase in MM as they claim, I should note my original wires still worked fine. Long story short if i could do it all over again i would Go with ROB E30 COP conversion kit or make the conversion my self. Skids right get rid of the wires and never have to buy them again! Turners wires aren't bad and did make a difference, how ever i just cant justify the price in terms of recommending them to some one else!

It is a really basic conversion,
Go to pic n pull, find a 90's bmw 540 or 735 maybe even a 328. Check the coils and bag 4 of the ROUND coils not the square coils. The square coils wont fit in the v/c.. I cant remember which model mine came from.. then all you need is a thin piece of aluminum and a step drill bit. With a little patients and some measuring you can drill the appropriate holes and fab up a mounting plate to hold the coils in place on the valve cover. Or you can source a pre made plate , I have seen several kits available. I made my plate from an old stop sign. The coils fit in my tool bag nicely, so n/c.. The total cost of mine were $0.00.. there is a writeup on how to do it somewhere on the interwebs..
Oh shit, this will work on e30 and EARLY e36 with the individual coils not the coil "pack" the later e36 had.. sorry if I steered you wrong and got your hopes up... Skid

Thank you guys for the responses. I will have to take a closer look into this. Sounds like a good upgrade.

I just purchased the COP kit...its cheaper than buying high performance wires and you eliminate them all together! Done deal.

COP conversion is the best spark set up you can get!
The only downside is that the nice BMW logo on the rocket cover will never fit again.

Hi mate, why is this?
Was planning on doing this myself in a late E36 donor car before the swap into my E30.
Gotta do *something* with those coils :P They can't be converted??
