Is it true that the m42 came with forged connecing rods? Read it some where and am very curious. Will help with my build.

Sure about this? Always read that is the crank being cast on m44 and forged on m42 but connecting rod are forged for both

I went back but could not find where i read it was cast. For sure the Crank as you mentioned is cast where as the m42 is forged. The connecting rod im not 100% positive but i did read some where that it was cast. I do know though that The m44 rod was redesigned by Bmw to reduce NVH. Perhaps some one with an m44 could chime in :)

Nope.
M44 and M42 rods are both forged. The M44/late M42 rod is significantly lighter than the early M42 rod and is virtually identical to the S50M3 rod albeit 5mm longer
M44 cranks are indeed cast.
