The right side door mirror glass doesn't want to stay attached. So far I've been lucky that when it comes loose it hangs up on the bottom of the mount. Nothing seems to be broken or missing so I assume either I'm missing an important step when I install it or something is worn.
So, is there anything more to installing it than to open the ring, attach to motor, rotate ring?
If it is something that is worn out, is it more likey the mirror or the motor mount?
Thanks,

I've never pulled one off. I'll have to try it out and get back to you. Are there mounting ears on the motor somehow?

I took pictures of a mirror I dissected one time and never got around to posting them. This seems like a good time to finally do so. :)
This is the backside of a mirror. The gray "ring" on the left attaches to the black bracket on the back of the mirror...

The "ring" rotates on four pins attached to the black plastic bracket glued to the backside of the mirror...

To mount the mirror, remove the rubber plug on the bottom of the housing and use a straight slot screwdriver to rotate the "ring" clockwise for the four ears on the motor housing to engage and lock...(obviously, I've removed the mirror for clarity)

You should feel a distinct click when the ring locks into place.

Thanks, I hadn't noticed the plug and this is the first reference to it I've seen to it.
