Title: M44 oil pump housing onto m42
Post by: bigdogcb on May 20, 2014, 02:33:06 PM
Hi all.
Does anyone know if it's possible to put an m44 oil pump housing/lower timing case onto a m42 block.
Any info greatly received.
Thanks in advance

Yes, it is very possible. I am using one. You just need to make sure to use the M44 oil pump rotors since they are larger, and you will need an adapter bracket to hold the crank position sensor in place since the M44's crank position sensor was on the crankshaft and the M42's is on the harmonic balancer. Metric Mechanic can probably sell you an adapter bracket.
