Title: Bad running at high revs
Post by: Turbotodger on May 11, 2014, 04:17:44 AM
Hi all
First time posting on hear so sorry if this is in the wrong part or I have done anything wrong.

Right I have a e36 318ti 1.9 that I use as a track toy / drift car and lately it has started running bad at 5500 RPM onwards but only when the engine is hot enough to activate the fan before this it pulls like a train at first I thought the RPM limiter was cutting in early because that is what is sounds like but I can power through this it just runs ruff so I changed the fuel filter thinking it was lack of fuel but no joy I then thought it was a slight misfire across the cylinders so changed the plugs leads and coil but nothing has changed so now I'm thinking air mass although I have unplugged it and nothing really changed apart Fromm running a bit lumpy at idle I have ordered one for Monday and that's as far as I have got

Has anyone else had this problem or can help me solve it
Thanks Shane

might be some kind of fuel starvation, your fuel pump going bad or maybe injectors clogged
