Title: 1991 318is Oxygen sensor?
Post by: e3091318is on December 23, 2013, 08:42:52 PM
I am looking to buy a new O2 sensor, but I noticed there are Bosch ones for $60-$70 online or OEM BMW ones for $120+.  Any idea if it really makes a difference?  I have a 1222 code and really am tired of it.  I had a smoke test done, fuel pressure test, and the engine was rebuilt 3000+ miles ago.  The only thing I can think it could be is the O2 sensor or MAF.  Most people online are saying o2 sensors fixed it.  Anyways let me know what you guys think.

Bosch is the OEM. The Genuine BMW one shouldn't be any different. Buy the "aftermarket" OEM one.

Not saying that will fix your problem, but they should be the same sensor.

Yea I am just trying to trouble shoot.  It should fix the problem.  If not there can only be a few things left.

Here's some part numbers for you. Pay particular attention to the correction the OP made in the first post.

FYI - I bought the "incorrect" sensor long before a correction was noted in the thread. I simply spliced my OEM connector onto the new sensor and have been running it for almost a year with no problems.

Thanks for everything guys.  I am driving out to Las Vegas on Sunday so I am trying to figure out the fastest way to get one by Saturday.  Pepboys has them for $77 but I have a $15 off coupon.  But I noticed this one says "13108".
