Title: Fuel pump wire color on ignition switch.
Post by: Fitsole on November 30, 2013, 04:35:29 PM
My ignition shaft behind lock cylinder broke. I decided to buy a push button start instead of a 260 dollar housing. My key turns enough to power my accessories. I got the push button start in. It's cranks but won't start. I turned my radio off and listened to see if my fuel pump comes on. It is not. I want to wire a toggle switch to my fuel pump from the back of the ignition switch. I need to know which wire it is. I can't download wiring diagrams on my iPhone so I can't see them.

I replied in your other thread - you'll need to run that red wire to the green DME power wire. I'd wire two relays - one with a toggle switch to power the relay on the DME green power wire and then a push-button to pulse the relay on the black/yellow starter wire.

IIRC those two wires are the only ones that the car uses in 'start' and 'run.'
