So I am doing a little 290 mile road trip today. I was due for an oil change in about 250 miles, so I did it last night. While down there, I pulled the lower pan to check for any loose upper pan bolts since I found one in the pan when my oil pump blew. One was a little loose, which was no biggie. However...
The bolt that sits right in the middle of the pickup passage is f^%$ing stripped. So, when I get back I guess I will have to get out the helicoil kit and fix this. This means dropping the stupid upper oil pan again...uugh. I think I will just wait the extra 5000 miles until my next oil change...it has made it like 6000+ with the thing probably stripped, so the 2 surrounding bolts must be applying enough pressure. Grrr....stupid aluminum timing case.......

That sucks
It's easy to frig up . just a little too much torque and whammmo.
I cringe when i put my spark plugs in and torque them down .I feel like if they strip I'm screwed .
