hello everyone! love this site. ive been building 2002s and e30s for years but this is my first m42 powered version. wanted to post here so future buyers and sellers could get an idea of pricing vs condition. car is a 1991 318IS white with black interior. 5 speed. salvage title but dont care. runs and drives very well. no running noises. short shift, chip, all suspension recently redone/upgraded, bilstiens, poly bushings, etc. nonadjustable and cracked driver seat, super cracked dash, small dent in rear. prob bout 200k on engine and 100k on trans. engine has some blow by but still smooth and peppy. lots of records. paid 1400$ felt it was about right. if dash, seats were in better shape id have gladly paid more. very happy over all. fun little car

Welcome! You're bringing a nice carback to life. Wonder why it's a salvage title? Looks fairly straight to me.
They are a great little car, much more like the '02 than any other BMW IMHO. I worry that the Bavarians won't ever make cars like this again.

thanks dave! the goal for this one is just to maintain whats there. And i believe you are correct. dont think there will be other bmws that feel like this and the 2002. Probably why the value of these cars seem to be increasing!

Need to get the beans back to chrome. :) They are part of the classic look and them being plaint black makes it look a bit too generic for me.

I don't think they will make these cars again or anything like them. Now they do reverse engineering!
