Hey do you know if I use a towing dolly on 1995 bmw 318i manual it's will mess it up if I tow it from the front not the back
-
BMW always recommends that you tow from the front. Now, before you go off doing what I suggest because I'm not speaking on behalf of BMW, call the service department and ask a technician.

Also from BMW but also for every rear wheel drive car, if the rear wheels will be rolling with the tranny and engine off, the driveshaft has to be loose from the rear diff.

This is a real hot button topic for me. E30 owner's manuals show a picture with the vehicle being towed by the front wheels and do not mention disconnecting the driveshaft.
Personally, if I'm towing for an extended distance of a couple hundred miles I'll disconnect the DS. If I'm towing across town or just over the mountain I don't bother with it.
