Post by: silverblades181 on January 04, 2007, 02:29:07 PM
Whats the difference between the 91 Octane and 93 Octane MarkD chip? And the 93 Octane chip is not on the EAT website...

My guess is a more advanced ignition curve. Probably only 1-2 degrees.

Anything more precise? I assumed timing was a bit more advanced but if it's only that then I can't justify the price of 94 Octane gas over 91...

Have you tried emailing or PMing Mark on one of the forums?

I've e-mailed him twice, he seems to be busy because I haven't had a reply so I thought I'd try the forums.

I called him about the exact same thing. He said he just advanced the timing it a little while using an a/f meter to keep it percise. He hadnt dyno'd so there arnt exact numbers to compare the 2, but i dont think its a big gain from 91 to 93. I ended up going with the 93 since they sell 87, 89 or 93 here.
overall i love the chip, felt ~10% gain in the butt dyno.
