Title: E36 diff?
Post by: sha1234 on January 04, 2007, 01:03:36 AM
will an E36 diff out of a 318 fit into our lil car?
cause there is a local guy selling his for pretty cheap
but
the numbers he got off of it are
 b-345-7002
and 1212665
i have no idea what to make of these... ive never seen B... and does that 345 mean a 3.45 gear ratio?... or what
if so thats way to low right

Only the E36 compact shares the same type of diff as the E30. If it's an E36 coupe or sedan it won't fit.

No.DescriptionSupplement           Qty Part Number   Price
01 STABILIZER BAR REARD=14MM 1    33551091621 $121.64

FOR VEHICLES WITH
M SPORTS SUSPENSION
01 STABILIZER BAR REARD=16MM 1    33551090317 $129.46

realoem shows a 14 mm rear as standard on an E36 compact and a 16 mm for the M. There's also a 12 mm rear bar standard for the E30 and a 14.5 mm bar for the M-Technic. The 14.5 mm bar should be a bolt on as it is for the E30 and uses the same hardware except for the rubber bushings.
Does anyone know if the E36 16 mm bar for the Compact M model will also fit?
