Title: ECU Swap
Post by: M42_Jester on July 18, 2013, 01:00:01 AM
Has anyone done this?

I have already done the ECU bypass trick, outlined in the below video. I just want to know if I can now swap out my ECU with a shit flebay chip inside, for a stock ECU and still have it all work without realigning the EWS.

I was checking that out a while ago.  It could be that a few Ebay chips won't delete the EWS-II, I'm not aware of which are suitable.  That's always been the solution though - either an earlier maroon DME (chip or no chip), or the later silver unit with an EWS-II delete chip and a cut EWS signal wire.

I also wasn't 100% clear if anyone had done an EWS-II delete on an M44 DME.  I know the EWS-II wire is different on the M4x motors.
