So I purchased a Remus 'Racing Sound' titanium tip muffler- straight through pipe you can see through it. It was 300 from some canadian company, I know I could have gone cheaper (and I am a very poor student right now) but I figured I might as well get what I want, a gift to myself. For 120 dollars my exhaust guy put on the muffler with straight piipes coming from where the headers combine into one tube. (Normally he would have been cheaper but it wasn't his part...)
It's loud. and just screams to high rpm. Soon I will be getting a cat and a resonator installed, make it streetable. I hate climbing up hills and such in residential areas its just too loud. I plan on not welding the cat but flanging it, so I can remove it for races, etc (Just for sound really).
I know, I need to replace the bumper strip. Anybody have an extra rear section?

So you purchased a "Racing Sound" straight through muffler but want to make it quieter now?

Well I like loud cars too! I bought the tip for looks and sound together, I'm just going to put a cat in there so its not obscene at all times. I can't go up my driveway its so loud. I don't really mind, b/c its a joy on the twisties.
MY ultimate plan might involve a cat and resonator to the Remus, then a Straightpipe to no muffler via a cutout. Not sure though.
As of now I am planning on flanging in a cat/resonator to both be legal and reduce noise, take it out when I want some noise or at a track.
I guess nobody likes it? Maybe its too different.

I do like the tip but not crazy on noisy straight throughs for na M42 motors putting out negligible gains if any. But I'm getting old like that. Next thing you know, I'll be trading in my H&R/Bilstein combo for M3/Boge set. haha. ;)
But Armin Swartz thanks you. :)
