Title: Blind Plug?
Post by: Damon in STL on May 24, 2013, 08:24:02 AM
I'm putting my engine back together and the machine shop gave me part #14.  It goes in the block.....but, where?

In the diagram it goes on the block picture, where the hole is by #6. Is the plug where you put in the flywheel lock. So it is under the starter on the driver side (left hand drive)

I guess to add to monty23psk, it's the rubber plug that covers the hole for the BMW special tool to drop in on TDC. They usually melt or fall out. Not needed.
