Title: ICV Issue?
Post by: Gabs on May 08, 2013, 09:57:49 PM
So I've just finished this last week end, the rebuild of my M42. I plan to update my profile soon for all of those interested in the build.

Anyway onward, I'm going to be adding some FI in the coming months, so I used a 0.140 VAC MLS Gasket bringing my compression down to 8:1 ? I don't recall the exact calculation on that. Naturally I also rid my m42 of the mess under the intake. The car runs and Idles great with the ICV unplugged from its electrical connection, but If you plug it in while running or even before starting, the engine doesn't hold idle it just dies.

And as I'm writing this, it just dawned on me that maybe I have the ICV backwards, I was pretty sure I put in on correctly but possibly Im wrong.

No... Its cooked.  I had the same issue.  You can try cleaning it or just find a used one.
