some more info please...
does it idle ok ?
does it run well until it gets to 37 mpg? ( 37 in 1st gear is not bad ;) )
What year and model is it ? How many miles on the car? What kind of shape? Was it well maintained ?
Is it hesitating ? spit and sputtering ?
do you have the gas pedal to the floor at 37?
Have you done any basic tune up to the car ??? I.E. plugs, wires, air filter ,gas filter ? There are a lot of things it could be .
We can't help ya if you don't give us good information .
Thanks

no its 37 mpr in 4th .... dosnt pass 3,800 RPM and i think its running lean dont know how to fix that
it starts only when messing the pedal down and even out of gear with clutch down it dosnt pass 4,200RPM sadly im completly confussed on what to do
-
check spark plugs.
-
im going to replace the spark plus , wires , injectors , hose's , and belts ill get back to this site after say if it works or not
-
fuel filter, visual check on plugs and airfilter, check for a good spark by grounding out the plug on something, this rules out plugs and wires.
how does it idle?

Are you saying the car sat in the same spot for a long time?
Did you put any stabilizer in the gas tank when the car sat for that period of time?
Have you run fresh fuel in the car since storage?
As asked earlier - how does the car idle?
Is your check engine light on?
Are there any issues with mice in the garage or area of storage?
-
Mice??
-
Mice??
yeah hehe. They can eat a harness... enter your airbox and leave some crud in there etc

well car idles like a around 350-750 RPM some times stalls , wires are good connectors work aswell new fuel filter new fuel lines and spark plugs . car had no fuel in it well sit i got 3 gallons of 91 in it 3 days ago .
after i put new injectors it dosnt start it sounds like it would fire up then after i let it go it dies... im sorry for makeing this so long with response but ive been helping family members move back and forth all day
so far i have checked and replaced is
-wires
-belts
-injectors now 19# from a ford *all work ive checked each one
-fuel filter
-fuel lines
-some old fuse's that look pretty bad (not blown but very old )
(ps. no mice but 1 fat ugly cat and one thats always in the garage sleeping on my car or on the tire under the wheel well

i got a bmw book checked replaced everything you guys said too but now i know what it is its something with the TPS the wires is not sending any information between the 2 18 and 3 slots ... its not that it isnt sending more like it isnt even receveing any information
i dont know how to rewire it or anything to make it work
-
Ah hah - you might be onto something. A frayed TPS harness will cause the car to run terrible and sometimes not even start at all. The area where there's a rubber boot/sheath around the connector is usually where the wires break.
While the car is running - tug on the wires and see if the car stalls completely or get's better intermittently. You can splice the wiring and fix the breaks or you can source a used harness to make another connector.
G.Luck.

maybe the wires ... but i changed all the wire cracks by crimping them together with new wires .. checked voltage. .. didnt work ( with engine on idleing at 2,700rpm ) then i put it back together then by hand pulled the throttle wire to full-open throttle ... stop'ed at 4,800rpm thought maybe the TPS was dead got new one from local bmw store replaced and did same thing .. 4,800rpm is there anything of the ECU dieing with no fuse's blowing ?
-
how are the connections on the new wires, did you solder them or just crimp? because that connection and resistance could be changing the signal thats being sent.

Have you checked your idle control valve and crank position switch ??
-
the m10 engines have idle control valves and crank position switches if so where and how to adjust ?

M10???????????????????
I have a hard enough time with the M42!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can't adjust, you can just measure resistace on them to see if they are working properly. Should be on the crank pulley, or some times they refrece off the flywheel... as for the idle control valve, clean it, see if its opening or closing, and past that i'm not sure how to test it...

okay anyone know of a cheap ingnition system i.e. magasquirt ,msd ,or ect that i can use instead of the computer inside the car ( l-jectronic system ) all my friends and brothers say its proably that and i want to make a custom ITB system and use a MAF system this is proably the best way i dont realy care about hp that much i just want about 190-220hp a little high reving 4 cylinder is what i want any one that can help that be great and if you could give me a system you are useing with wire diagram and price would be awsome im looking to spend 100-700 dollers depends on how well and how reliable system set-up is

No offense but that's the last thing you want to do on a budget. Trust the factory on what they did to the car. It's hard to get more power easily unless you have a lot of resource$.
We all wish to have 190-220hp revving engines but you will have to pay to play. Take a quick search through on this forum and any other forum with regards to MAF, CAMS, ITBs, STROKER as keywords and you will see it comes at a cost and frustration.
Unless you have a free wealth of technical knowledge and some funds to spend on bolts ons and tuning you might want to just be happy with what you have.
IF you insist on modifying - please drop the word "cheap" from any sentence in your planning sequence.
