Title: dead battery, trunk lock toast

how do I charge the battery from the engine bay?  THanks!!!

You can find the positive battery cable on the passenger side firewall under the hood.

A description from a user on another forum:

The positive terminal is on the passenger's side firewall. Open the hood. right at the firewall is a place to hold a battery. Look on the firewall just above this, you'll see a cable coming up from the side of the car, a bolt point, and a cable heading off to the starter along the firewall. That bolt point is your positive terminal.

I believe this is the Junction your looking for.

Yep - that's the place. You can also use a slow-charger on the cigarette lighter.  I'm going to get a slow solar panel charger to keep my battery topped up via the cigarette lighter circuit.
