Hey guys! I'm Vivek from Los Gatos, CA. I've been on r3vlimited for a while now, and I've just lurked on this board. I have an e30 convertible (m42 of course) that I plan to boost around this summer. My goal is around 200whp at 10-12 psi, but I'm still working all of that stuff out.

Welcome to the 'club! Your car looks awesome - do you always keep it so clean? What color is that?
I always had a weak spot for the 'verts, they're great cars. Keep us updated! You've really slammed that car - are you running a skid plate?

Very nice!

welcome, I can assure you that you won't get the sort of abuse that your accustomed to on Rev, here

Thanks! It's actually always dirty haha. I wash/detail cars for extra money on the side, and it really uses up all of my energy for cleaning cars.
I'm not running a skid plate, because I think my oil pan is pretty high right now. I haven't measured it at my current height, but I think I have over 3" of clearance, so I'm not too worried. I've been running it at around 3" or less clearance for a year now with no issues.

I'll say a prayer and invoke the gods of the M42 for you - may your roads always be flat and your tires fully inflated! :D
I've never been to Los Gatos though - I'll bet you have far better roads than we do. Around here you'd be asking for trouble! Years of freeze/thaw cycles and heavy salting makes our streets look like a war zone. Some of our roads are still brick or cobbles, if you can believe it. Sometimes I cringe and I'm running at stock height myself.

Roads are generally okay here. I've heard that San Jose has some of the worst highways in the country due to lack of maintenance, but they've never seen snow or salt so I'm sure that helps. I'm on ground controls with custom rates so it can handle being pretty low without too much risk, IMO.

Hey Vivek, welcome to the board. Did you raise your car..?
I remember your car on r3v to be a bit lower and i always wondered about your oil pan clearance.
-
It's been at a bunch of different heights. It's raised from my sig pic, which was about the lowest it ever was. Maybe 2.5" clearance there on the oil pan and under two on parts of the exhaust. Right now it's about where it was at I'm the first pic, and I'm putting new wheels on soon so it may go slightly lower to finalize the ride height.
