Title: How to know flywheel type
Post by: Asterian on February 10, 2013, 12:29:14 PM
Seems that time for clutch service will come soon on my E30 89' m42.
To order right parts its good to know which flywheel do I have - single or dual mass.
Does anybody know - is it present any change to know it without disassembling?
Thanks.

Hmm, maybe difference is minor, I still have not change it on this engine.
But ETK shows:
Kit for single mass: 21 21 1 223 570
Kit for dual mass: 21 21 1 223 571

Is it pressure plate or clutch assy?

If you have air conditioning I would think you have the dual mass flywheel.

- No A/C. But I was making a SWAP from M10 and not sure that my current engine at "original" car was with or without.
