Title: supercharger questions - all the same?
Post by: tfrain on January 30, 2013, 09:16:31 AM
Is the downing atlanta kit for the 1.9 Z3 the same kit other than the different intake boot?  Will it fit our 91 M42 engines if we convert it to vbelt?  What other differences are there?

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom!  I just picked one up for my M44(97 318ti).  There are differences in at least the pulley, brackets and throttle intake elbow from a Z3.  Also, if the kit you refer to is post 96 emission changes, there are various parts and pieces differences.  I did speak with Jim at DA and as far as the Intake boot (Elbow), while they don't have any more on the shelf.  That is a part they can make special order.  I was told $295 for one for a ti, as the DASC I was looking at was setup for a Z3.

I have 2 M42s as well (91 318ic and a 95 318ti) and had wondered in the event I run accross another solid one at a cheap price.
