Hi,
I've installed my wbo today. First of all, I used an old nbo's plug
for the simulated nbo output. The problem is the plug cannot go into
the opposite plug, so I have to make it connect.
I thought that the car will run without the stock nbo sensor, but it
can't! If the engine runs at idle speed, tha AFR is pulsing then it
goes slowly upto 20AFR and after that the enginge stops. When the AFR
is higher than 15 the eginge can't run smooth, the rpm stalls and the
engine suffers. I tried to plug in the stock nbo, while it was hanging
in the engine bay, so it actually wasn't in the exhaust pipe and very
very surprisingly the engine runs smooth! Even when driving the car
everything is just the same as before, when the nbo was in the pipe!
How could this work?
If I unplug the nbo, driving is not smooth, the AFR is very lean and
it's hard to accelarate. When I plug it back in, it's smooth. All this
while the nbo is hanging in free air!
I have a 3.5bar (50.7psi) fuel pressure regulator
instead of the stock 3bar (43.5psi). I felt the enginge is running
rich, because the muffler tip is always black and the fuel consuption
is a bit high I think. So at idle the AFR is about 12-13. When I
drive idle at 2000 or 25000rpm at a steady rpm, the afr is between
10-11. Its very rich I think!
What do you think? Why can't it run without an nbo even if it isn't in the exhaust?
