When the car is relatively cold. I try to crank the engine but it doesn't even turn. Makes a thumping sound (like "Thump"). Then, after a couple of tries, it cranks normally. But, this morning, I couldn't start the engine at all. Is this a battery problem? If it is battery, it shouldn't even crank at all correct?
Thanks

Autozone and others have a battery/starter/alternator tester. They'll check it for free.

try tapping your starter with a wrench. if it starts fine after that, you need a new starter.
