Title: FS 91 318i
Post by: Tablasaurus on November 06, 2012, 05:51:35 PM
Hello guys, So I've decided to try and part ways with my trusty 318i. I'm located in Seminole, FL. I would like to get 3800 for the car, but do feel free to shoot me an offer. Also PM me if you want any more info/more pics. Deets located below

the odometer broke at 78k, and the people I bought it from estimated they put around 12k onto it since then, and then since I've been driving it I would estimate it has around 95k miles on it, assuming they were telling the truth. I have replaced the odometer gears and they work, just only when the speedo works. I also deleted the power steering as the hoses were leaking, and I like the feel better without it. But I still have the  pump, reservoir, and old hoses. So it can be re installed.

Pros : Replaced odometer gears, new tie rods + alignment, new control arm on the right side, have the left side just havent gotten around to installing it yet. (I've used all Lemfoerder) Have m3 cabs I've been waiting to install that are included. No vibrations at any speed, drives nice and solid. Transmission and engine both feel awesome. Replaced plugs + plug wires. Replaced fuel filter and fuel hoses as they were leaking, no more fuel leaks. No rust. Tons of receipts and paperwork from previous owner, as well as original owners manual and stuff. Car has 25% lock LSD, not sure what gear ratio that is (4.10 I believe?)

Cons : The speedo works intermittently and I havent found the cause yet. Right axle seal is leaking a little bit. Small oil leak from front of engine (not sure of the source). Bit of a clunk over bumps at low speed sometimes, think its the swaybar endlinks. The bottom of the center console, with the ac controls, does not light up. Left fog light needs a new bulb. Paint has seen better days, has been resprayed and was not given a clear coat, its not TOO bad though, AC doesent work very well, does not blow very cold

And here are some pix

I hear you on the e28 - those were great old cars.  I just sold off a 633CSi, love that old fashioned M30 big six sound.  The e28 has a superior suspension to the e30 as well.

I have a lead on a really interesting '77 e12 530iA...I'd trade you straight up!
