has anyone hooked up their fog lights so they come on when you turn the key on ??
Then they would be on all the time like running lights . I wanted to know if someone knew this procedure .

Should be pretty easy - just cut the power lead to the fogs and replace it with a keyed +12V lead from a relay tied to the battery post on the passenger side firewall in the engine compartment.
Why?

I want them to be on all the time like running lights .I think I'm going to try and make it work off my fog light button . When I push the fog light button in they will come on no matter if the headlights are on or not .
As it is right now if I push the button in they won't be on unless I pull out on the headlight switch and only work when the headlights are on low beam .When I switch to high beam they turn off .
Thanks

That's close to what I'm looking for . I've seen a couple of fixes like that on the forums but I was looking for something that would have the fogs independent of everything .I.E.
Key in the on position ,push fog light button ,fog lights come on .
I think I'll do the relay thing and settle for that .
Thanks for the replys.

I have used the above method several times. I almost ended up with a dead battery several times though as the lights power on w/out the ignition

My car does that from the factory, yay for Canadian DLR's. ;)

Your lucky !!!!
Well, it snowed 6 inches here today and the little car is in the barn taking a 3month nap so I've got a while to figure out how I want to have the fog lights work. Maybe in 4 months I can get rid of that slight hesitation the car has developed.
 God I hate just changing parts to solve a problem.

yeah mine is in the garage until spring too. As for your hesitation have you checked for any codes? A jc chip, new bav auto coil pack and new magnecor wires made the thrrottle response very quick. Zero hesitation now.
What fuel do you use?, how many miles on the car?, when was the last full tune up? and is there any old or cracked vacuum hoses? How's the exhaust? and what milage are you getting?

You guys can actually fit a car in your garage? I'm jealous! Mine is for tool and parts storage: two-car garage and the E30 won't fit.
Snow tires are going on this weekend anyway, since the E30 is my daily, but still.... :)

You just have to organize your space better. I've got tools, supplies, compressor, engine hoist, floor jacks, 2 motorcycles, 2 spare engines, 3 cars, 4 parts boxes, workbench all in my 2.5 car garage. The e30 normally gets parked on the streets but not during winter. It's a tight squeeze but can be done. :)

yea ,I got a code fault back 1262 so I have to check icv .
186,000 miles
new plugs ,new co2 sensor ,new radiator ,new waterpump, new fuel pump, new gas filter.
I've cleaned and checked the maf. checked the tps ,checked coolant temp sensor.
I've replaced some vacuum hoses but I think I'm going to pull off the manifold so I can get at all the rest that I can't quite see.
No chip as of yet
I get around 30 mpg and use 93 octane
The exhaust seems ok ???
Eventually I will have a new car with all the new parts :D
I have to do suspension by next summer and don't think I can afford to lower it .I might have to get just shocks and live with that for a couple years.

I wish my garage looked like that
If I could get my vehicles in the barn it would be Hmmmmmmmmmm
1 1989 mercury grand marquis wagon . (It's like going down the highway on your couch )
2 1994 4runner ( biggest gas hog and what a dog for power , last forever though)
3 1998 buick skylark ( IT just won't die !!)
4 2004 chevy silverado ( company vehicle)

If your wires and coils are original then that would be a good place to start.
