Title: powdercoating centercaps
Post by: tfrain on September 23, 2012, 10:34:53 PM
I finally got some euroweaves.  Have to get them powdercoated.  Some questions.  One is can I powdercoat the aluminum waffle of the centercap?  I know I have to paint the plastic parts but I really thought they were 100 % plastic including the waffle.  Two.  Which portions should I have the powdercoater tape off for proper fitment?  Inside of
hub.  Inside rotor/wheel mating surface.  What else?  What about the fitment of the centercaps?  If too tight after powder can I simply sand til they fit?

The PO of my car powdercoated the center waffles and I swap them between the BBSs and OEM basketweaves with no problems; it's not a real tight fit.

I would think you're correct in telling the coater to mask off the face and center bores of the wheels.
