Title: Pistons and crank bearings
Post by: Froos on December 04, 2006, 06:01:53 AM
Hi all, i need new pistons for my m42, what i found is that the mahle part number is:
082 69 00 (complete with rings and clips etc), can anybody verify this?
Also did anybody try different pistons and what is your experience with them?
Can anybody point me to a website which has crank-bearing part no.'s or give me the number?
Im putting in new because I dont know what the previous owner did to the engine, 2 pistons were worn badly (nrs 1 and 4)and could move side to side about 2mm! The crank bearings had some scuffs on them as well, not a good sign. However the cams are in excellent condition, so is the crank.
The engine is out so might as well do a good rebuilt right?
many thx

I see you are in Europe. You could try Pelican parts They have good service and good prices. They sell Porsche and BMW parts.
