Alrighty I was out thrashing the car testing the latest changes to the MAF converter tonight. When I got back and shut off the car, the Battery Check light in the instrument cluster stayed lit. I checked over all the wiring from the converter and other places for a short, but came up empty handed. I have disconnected the battery until I figure this out.
So, why would that stay on? Something blown in my alternator? Thanks!

OK, pulled the alternator and ran a bunch of tests. One of the high current diodes inside is pooped...not lucky enough to have it be the little inexpensive regulator module.
So, I need a damn alternator, and I am short of money. I am also supposed to take my GF out for dinner on Thursday for her BDay too lol....oops! Anyone know of a place that can rebuild one in the Bay Area? I suppose I can check the local parts store for rebuilt ones, but doing that usually makes my rear hurt. Oh well, at least I know what it is now.

dang sorry to hear that man

Hokay, had the alternator rebuilt for $110....new diodes, regulator, brushes and bearings. The outer case got hot-tanked and bead-blasted too. All problems solved! The shop was fast, 3 hours, and VERY cheap for the quality of work they offer. For anyone who is in the Bay Area, I HIGHLY recommend:
