have just bought and installed a m44 motor to me e36, now, for one reason or anotehr i havnt the chip that goes in the key, i have everything else connectoed..
I just saw this on ebay, has anyone bought one from here?

I thought that you only need to short two wires in the car? EWS II is simpler than the later EWS 3 - I think that needs a new EEPROM chip in the DME to disable it.

On the m42 earlier engines, you can cut wire no.7 and it will start, but on the later models, there isa black/purple wire here, and that does no difference.
\this little chip is the only reason im not doing a auto solo in the car tomorrow... after spending a lot of money, time etc, i cant believe it...
