Or maybe restoration would be more like it. I'll post a DIY for what I did along with the part numbers for the batteries and LED bulb. The total cost was a bit more expensive than I originally thought it would be to the tune of ~$25.
The LED doesn't throw out a beam like the OEM bulb, but it's not as power hungry and it operates in a 1 to 9 volt range.
