I have known for a while that my front shock inserts were getting beat, and was wondering if any of the other, cheaper shocks were worth a try. On other cars, I have tried Boge, KYB , and others, and they all seemed to be ok, especially at first, but they never last that long. So, long story short, I bit the bullet and went with Bilstein HD. As far as I am concerned, putting Bilsteins on is the most obvious improvement to the supension you can do.
It puts back that silky smooth and supple feel to the suspension that gets lost over time as your shocks and other bits wear. They say a set of Bilsteins can last the life of your car, and I hope they do:)

Good job! Yes, I too have found that Bilsteins last a long, long time. The Boge TurboGas shocks that I had in 2006 lasted about 1 year before blowing. The Bilstein HD replacements are still good since being installed in 2007! They are a little pricey, but worth it.

Yeah, my car had a set of the Boge turbo gas struts up front, and 1 was completely blown and doing nada, the other was ok, but they could not have been on that long, as they had that still newish look to them, no rust or anything...I was not about to put that type back on

I'm a Bilstein believer after installing them on my car.
I'll consider them for replacements on my Jeep when the time comes.
