Title: 1994 e36 wiper transmission problem
Post by: grant111bmw on August 20, 2012, 01:13:11 PM
I recently bought a clean 1994 318is (11/93) that had a wiper issue. The passenger side mount of the wiper transmission was broken off, so the passenger wiper was flailing around. I bought a used wiper transmission from a junkyard and when i installed it, the passenger side mount was 1 3/4 " above the cowl, where it should mount. I re-installed the old transmission and it was in exactly the same (wrong) location, which would explain why the end broke off.  Here are 2 pictures to show the problem.

Any help would truly be appreciated...

Thank you,

That's quite a problem...not sure what the heck is going on there.

Welcome to the 'club though...anyone else have ideas?

Since it isn't like mine I can't compare mine to these pics.
There has got to be something that has been replaced with either the wrong part or another part is bent/broken/misaligned elsewhere. It looks to me like something on the drivers side has fallen down and push the passenger side up?
