Title: AFM door sticking open, choking engine
Post by: M42_Jester on August 11, 2012, 01:36:22 AM
Has anybody else had this problem? It mostly happens when I accelerate, the door will stay open and I will have no power and the engine shudders. How do I fix this without forking out a couple hundred dollars for a new AFM?

Cheers,

Jester

Sounds like the spring has broken in the housing. You should be able to get a used unit for fairly cheap off the forums here or at a junk yard

I should clarify, the door doesn't stay open forever. It just doesn't close straight away. I've had the problem before, and a hit of WD-40 did the trick then. I just don't want to keep putting that in an area that sucks in air to the engine
