Is/are there factory pick points for removal and installation of the motor with a cherry picker engine hoist? I see a couple empty bolt holes on my engine that look like past homes of such a device, that would make the re-installation of my motor and transmission so much easier, coupled with the use of a load leveler. Another "gift" from the previous owner, I guess.
I ask because I don't want to advertise in the WTB forum, if no such thing exists. I haven't been able to see anything for sure in any m42 photos, and didn't see anything in the DIY's. If there are pick points, photos would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry for the noob question, this is my first m42, so I have nothing to compare to (unlike like the 4 m30 and 3 m10 engines in my yard) to see the way things ought to be. Somehow this e30 hasn't multiplied in my driveway, yet .
Thanks,
Micah

I just got done removing / installing an M42 this weekend. There is a beefy steel bracket bolted to the head at the front of the engine. That's one. The other one I used is the stud that sticks out from the top/rear of the engine, used to hold the steel bracket that the intake manifold bolts onto.
A load leveler is great to have. It made the job soooo much easier!
