Title: both fuel level and water temp guages not working

So, yesterday I looked down and both my fuel level guage and water temp gauge was not working. Tried bumping the cluster but still didn't work. Are these connected somehow? Everything else on the cluster works fine. Anyone experience this? It's on my 91 318is. Thanks
