New to this form, but any ways I've had my 318is for about 2 months now and absolutely love her. I went out on a Friday afternoon drive in the mountains with my new go pro( got it 45 min earlier) and managed to get this footage of my wheel coming off. God was watching out for me, and I'm blessed to be able to share this experience with you guys. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXl149PAjes&feature=youtube_gdata_player)

Welcome to the site, er, I suppose. Everyone OK? Car take any damage?
Lucky you...what caused it? Bent rim? Loose lugs? Stripped bolt?
I've had two come off cars myself...considering the crap cars I drive, it's just par for the course. One was a bent rim ('87 Nissan 200sx), the other was due to my inexperience with torquing lug bolts ('84 VW Golf).
I'm not sure the ***** works on this site, and your post count is too low. I keep my pics & vids on an image server (Photobucket) and use links to put them in my posts.

Yeah we're fine, no one was Hurt. It all happened excuse of my 10mm spacer not alowing the lugs to thread deep enough into the hub. Amazingly enough it didn't end up hurting anything to bad other than my is front lip and fender. Got 75mm studs now to never have this happen again.

Where did you get the studs from, Vorlach? I've been considering studs myself - I don't like the lug bolts on these cars.

"thank you jesus" first words out of your mouth hahahaha
lucky no one was in the other lane.or they would have had the "tire in the windshield" mod....
welcome to the club, hopefully your next post is a happier one... good luck fixing the damage

I'm glad nobody was hurt and it appears to be a fender/inner fender only fix since you didn't run in to anything solid on the knuckle/caliper.
I'm seriously impressed that you took ownership of what happened and didn't try to blame somebody else and simply stated the truth. Kudos to you!
Those go-pro cameras are changing how we get to observe the real world in almost real time for as fast as they can xfer data.

Shit, sorry that that happened to you, happy you're okay. Way to take ownership in it and know how to prevent it going forward.
As I've heard happens when a wheel falls off, it goes past the car.
Looks like a fun road though.
