looking for a working Mass Air Flow sensor/meter. I am attempting to diagnose a no-start situation and my mechanic swears that the only item left is the MAF. Can anybody sell me one or allow me to test their extra working unit to confirm that my issue is really the MAF. I will give you a deposit to test it or buy a working one outright.

seems to me I remember somebody selling new ones on flea bay, and they seemed reasonable in cost  (i dont remember the exact cost,  but i didnt have a fit as soon as i saw it, so it couldnt have been too bad)

The car should start & run (badly) if the AFM is dead. Try unplugging it and starting the car. If you don't get any better results by unplugging it, then it isn't the problem. You can also try this with the throttle position sensor.

Just FYI, it isn't too hard top open it up and check / fix the AFM. The carbon resistance track gets worn from the wiper sliding around on it. You can simply bend the copper wiper a little so that it rubs on either a larger or smaller radius where the track is still nice & clean.
