Hey Guys,
I have a 91 318is, brilliant red, really good condition. This is a Texas car that has always been garaged. I have had it for 16 years. It has 149,000 miles. It has been lowered with Eibach springs, Bilstein shocks, Katskin tan leather on the seats, they were originally cloth, new carpet, uncracked dash, AC works, new front end parts, TSW wheels. The paint is in good condition and is original, it has always been waxed with Griot's products. The car has always been professionally maintained. This thing is fun to drive!
I'm thinking about selling it to reduce my fleet of vehicles but didn't know what it might be worth. Any input? I was kind of thinking $5k. This thing is NOT a junker. Is that too high?
Thanks!

Pics?

I think originality helps when asking top dollar for a car. Post some pics to show how low the car is and the rims as well. NADA lists your car as a classic so check out the values there.

with or without sun roof?? with out is worth more IMO

Pictures would be helpful.

that car is amazing. like new - but with better handling and some seriously delicious leather (and no cosmoline!).
we rust belters drool over southern stored-indoors rust-free cars.
i assume major service is up to date - timing, vac hoses etc?
if i owned it, i would have to have it up for sale for a very very long time before i took one penny less than 5k. that is an instant show car.
wheels are not my style, but that is personal preference. (still have the stock weaves?)
autotrader has the average e30 in the entire us selling at over 6k (granted some are majorly modded 10k plus cars, but still.
i think this is a serious bargin at 5k. you could fly in, have a vacation and drive home.
glws- the buyer seems like the lucky one.

Amazing car!
It looks better than new...

Okay guys,
It's official. It's for sale $5,000 firm. I have also uploaded some other photos on photobucket (see above link).
You can look around and find lots of beaters that you can spend alot of money on or you can buy this and drive it.
PM me with inquiries.

Free mercy bump. :)
ha ha - thanks! He got back to me. I just know you have to jump on these cars quick or they will disappear!! I've already talked to Tractor Boy about 3 times, talked to his mechanic, have bids for shipping on uship, and as a final step, have a buddy going to check out the car tomorrow during lunch. He seems like an awesome guy and this seems like an awesome, well cared for car. If all goes as planned, I'll have my CURRENT Brilliantrot 1991 318is for sale very soon! It isn't as nice as this car, but it is still pretty doggone nice and will be cheaper.

Ok, so I bought Tractor Boy's car! Title in my hands, just waiting on trucking company to pick it up and get it to me.
SO
I am selling my current 1991 318is. See below:
I'm looking to get $4000 out of the car, which is less than what I have in it, but that is pretty much how it goes, right? I may end up asking more if I get the passenger seat repaired, or get the seats redone, or end up fixing all the little things before I get it sold.
Link to photos is at the bottom -
Note:
1. Pictures are showing compression checks on all four cylinders. These are on a COLD engine (should have done with warm). They were even across all four.
2. Some of the pictures are of the recirculation baffles I spoke of that I rebuilt
3. One picture shows the area beneath the battery to show there is no rust anywhere on the car (this area usually rusts first from what I hear)
4. The picture of the car sitting in a parking lot beside a Chevrolet car is the CURRENT picture. It shows the spoiler on the back and the clean body. It really is a straight, clean body. Paint is fairly recent (no rock chips on the hood at all), and is a pretty good paint job I think. It shines up nicely and I am extremely happy with its appearance.
5. The rest of the photos are from when I bought it and are pictures taken from the dealer when they listed it for sale some time ago. Note that it shows no spoiler, chrome 318is emblems, a broken 6 button obc, no carpeted dash cover (only shows cracked dash), and a little bent area under the rear bumper. The spoiler and 318is were blacked out when I got them, I repaired the bent area under the bumper, OBC was replaced, dash cover was installed (by the dealer selling it), and I replaced the radio (but I may be swapping it into the new one - not sure yet). The engine was clean and is still that clean. Oh, and I replaced the washer bottle cap (missing in the photos) and the roundel on the trunk
I will try and take more recent pictures soon.
Thanks,
Tom

I think your price and the car compliment each other well. I don't see what's wrong with the seats; they look pretty good and the car shows quite well. How many miles?
-
Oh yeah 143,650 or so...Call it 144,000 documented miles. I put the Autocheck report out there with the pictures. The link will take you to the pictures and the Autocheck pdf.
-
The seats - well the passenger seat is cracked on the leg extension and both leg bolsters. In the photo, they used some of that vinyl dye on them just to make it look better. They told me about it before I purchased the car. But it is just cracked, old vinyl. I'll get some better photos of the seats. they are by no means terrible. MUCH BETTER than a lot of the seats I've seen in this forum, Rv3, ebay or the internet in general.

sorry to keep putting up info in new posts.....but....
I will most likely be swapping my basketweaves onto Tractor Boy's car. I haven't gotten to see them in person yet, and while nice wheels, I think the basketweaves are more my speed/style. So the TSW's will probably come with my car.
-
So do I understand correctly that this car is sold?
-
Correct. The original car posted by Tractor Boy now belongs to tfrain (me)! I am, in turn, selling my 1991 318is as Tractor Boy's car is replacing it. The dropbox link on the previous page will take you to some pictures of my car. I actually need to put a few more recent pictures in there as I had a buddy come and take pics for me.
