Title: Anyone with a Mark D M42 chip willing to give a quick review?
Post by: Got Mayhem? on June 19, 2012, 05:05:24 PM
I've been reading up on the 91 and 93 octane chips that Mark makes for this motor and I was hoping I could hear some reviews from people who have been running their cars chipped for a long time now. A lot of the reviews I've seen have only been after a few hundred miles and I'm curious to see how they're doing in the long run. I'm more interested in performance, breakdowns/reliability and so forth more than gas mileage.

Appreciate any feedback, thanks ahead of time!

I have been running mine for several years now with no issues. I cant give you any exact performance specs but it seems to do what it is advertised to do (increase performance, up rev limit) reliably and stands the test of time...

I don't have one but I don't think I've ever seen a bad thing written about them.  If I ever needed a new chip I wouldn't hesitate to buy one from Mark.

I had mine out on the race track beating on it and never had an issue.

The chip is not tuned aggressively enough to cause any reliability concerns IMO. Timing is more aggressive than stock, which was mapped more for economy than performance.
