Title: Which coolant sensor sends signal to DME?
Post by: Petebee on June 01, 2012, 08:26:57 AM
We have two coolant sensors on the M42 cars. I believe the coolant sensor towards the front of the head (closer to the fan) sends the temperature signal to the temp gauge. I think the one towards the middle of the head (buried under the intake) sends the temperature signal to the DME.

Can someone confirm that I have this right? I plan to replace the DME sensor but want to make sure I get the correct part.

Thanks!

I think you have at turned around, as my CTS closest to the fan failed and i had CEL, no problems with the gauge. I replaced that CTS and have had no problems since.
