Hi, Joined up after lurking some threads for info. I just picked up my e30 as a project car and will be slowly (very) bringing it back up to daily driver reliable and then modding it I hope. My other car is a Lincoln Mark VIII, it's my current daily and it is also seen in the pic in background. So far I've painted the intake and done the TB heater/mess under intake removal, and now the interior is torn apart to replace bulbs and to track down why the interior lights were dead (switch).
My $1300 318is:

check that rust above passenger wiper..... good way to get a leak inside car as that is right over the hole in the firewall for the blower motor

That's a nice looking pair of cars. Sounds like your car just got the owner she needed.
I always liked that Mark VIII, it was a dramatic styling departure for Ford. Nicely bolted-together car I'm told.

I'm gearing up for repairing the minor rust, for now if not aesthetically, at least functionally. Good eye.

Thanks for the compliments.
Mine is the (in my opinion) more refined 2nd generation, and considering what the general public thought about the car it's a pretty unique platform to drive every day. Most people think it's just another grannymobile, but the 32v v8 begs to differ. My experience has told me that the 3 Marks I've owned are actually really reliable and well built. Air ride is a questionable feature, if it works it's great, but I replace with coils when it starts to get cranky, this car is lowered 1.5'' on coils. Still cleans up nicely for almost 190k miles.

Welcome from St. Augustine! Whereabouts in FL are you?
-
Bradenton/Sarasota area, near Lakewood Ranch. Thanks, that's a nice slicktop in your sig, looks familiar... IDK why...
Maybe because it's the picture my car showed me it wants to look like!

Got it put back together and took it to the tuesday night meetup I go to every week and my buddy Koray, another e30 owner shows up in this sick supercharged 76 vette!

I'm in 941 as well, near West Bradenton but probably moving to Sarasota in a few months. I haven't seen your e30 around (I'm in Sota a lot) but it looks clean. I'm on r3v as Nairb, not on here as much!

I thought the Lincoln was your ugly car?
JK, of course, but I thought you were probably my age until you you mentioned going back to school in another thread. Your taste in cars is bi-polar.:D
