Title: Another new guy
Post by: ic455 on April 19, 2012, 11:57:41 PM
Hi, just got registered here, huge thanks to bmwman91!!  Just traded for a 91 318i the other day and found I'd forgotten a lot of the BMW tricks I learned years ago when I was wrenching on German cars in Atlanta.  I really missed these cars!

Thanks for the welcome!  Not alot of expertise as I've forgotten a lot of the finer points of German auto repair:confused:

.....but it's coming back to me a little everyday :D

The biggest problem, I guess, is that most of the major repairs I performed were on 6 cyl automatic cars or the huge 7-series beasties.  I do love the purposeful German engineering, though!

If anyone is from the Marietta, GA area and/or took your German auto to Performance Plus Hi-Line give me a shout!  Unfortunately, the shop closed some time ago as the owner, Christopher Bello, commited suicide in mid 2001.  He taught me a great deal about BMW mechanics and my Brother handled schooling me on Mercedes.  Chris was quite a fellow, a gearhead to his core, an excellent boss, and just a great guy!

LOL at this point reviews on e30's are irrelevant since they're over 20 years old, but thanks for the link I'm sure it will help someone.:D

I have read a review regarding the car and for the bottom line he said that it's a nightmare because of too many problems he encountered.
Apart from this, I know everyone is a BMW fan. I, personally, like the luxury associated with the brand! If anyone is planning on purchasing a BMW or other vehicle, a reliable dealership is a must. Here at Finding a dealership in Houston for me (http://www.cardealexpert.com/city/TX/Houston), you can locate one without too much effort.

Hmm, what's that taste??? So familiar ...
