I just filled up & did my first MPG check after installing the Mark D 91/7100 chip. 391 miles...used 12.4 gallons of 91.
Before Mark D, 28-28.5 MPG spirited driving. After Mark D, 31.5 MPG spirited driving.
When I first got the car, it got 26 MPG spirited driving.
The following performance/mileage related modifications/maintenance helped improve the gas mileage (was performed after I got the car)
1. Magnecor wires
2. New spark plugs
3. Sea Foamed engine
4. New Ford O2 sensor
5. Replaced many vacuum hoses
6. New rebuilt/balanced Mustang gen 3 injectors
7. New Mark D 91/7100 chip
These others provably helped also with the gas mileage….every little bit counts.
1. New thermostat & water pump
2. New Yoko 520 tires
3. Straight synthetic oil
4. Added a can of refrigerant to the air conditioner…it was cycling on & off.
5. New MAS to intake big rubber hose/tube…old one was all cracked….leaking???
6. New air filter
&. Worked on the DISA by replacing a broken vacuum canister & leaky hoses.
That is a 20% gas consumption improvement....not chicken feed.
Let’s keep those engines maintained.

This will be a helpful thread for me as I have everything amassed to do the same thing, although I will be installing a COP kit.
I have to run a few tanks to get a baseline for MPG, but I wonder how I should factor in the change from winter to summer blends of gas? I notice a 1-2 MPG difference in my Jeep between the two seasons.

Checked my mileage today...mostly back roads. 80 degrees, 188 miles traveled, 5.5 gallons used.....34MPG.

Thanks for posting this information...I'd figure that the MarkD chip would cut mileage...but if it's all good, it'll pay for itself quickly.
If only you'd posted this before his spring sale...
-
I will keep posting my MPG’s for the next few tanks full’s to make sure my increase in MPG is accurate.
-
Good to hear. I am also curious about the possible difference of winter/summer gas blends. Usually this alone can be a 10-20% when switching to summer gas.
-
Drove about 300 miles today...got gas 2 times. Mixed city & mostly 70-90 MPH highway with the air conditioner on using 91 octane...30 MPG.
All highways with air conditioner on 55-65 MPH monitoring the gas mileage needle 93 octane...35 MPG.
I will keep alternating 91 & 93 octane & reporting the MPG with the Mark D chip.
Got an SRS light to contend with now….does anybody have a reader in the Houston area?

I can always run a summer sale in case anyone is interested. Just let me know, the sale can start this week.

You're a great man. Don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise!

+1 for the summer sale!

What about a "Back to School" sale?

finally someone can confirm that the markd chip and increase mpg. I'm not sure why markd doesnt say this on his website. Would increase sales for sure.
