I recently pulled off my ICV to clean it because of a surging idle and it was pretty gunked up in there. I cleaned it out and the idle is alot smoother. I'd like to know if anyone here has cleaned out their throttle body because if my ICV was that dirty, I'd assume my throttle body is kinda dirty as well. How dirty was your throttle body and do you think its worth it to clean out?

I did mine earlier in the year but it really wasn't that dirty or gunked up.
IMO anything that helps the car run better and get better MPG is worth it. Especially when it's as inexpensive as this.
Sweet ride in your sig. BTW.:D

My car was very hard to start earlier this year and after I cleaned the throttle body and air flow meter my problem went away. Neither part looked particularly dirty but it certainly was worthwhile to clean them.

I cleaned it without any issues. Like previous posts, I didn't find really any gunk in my ICV, tb, afm. While you're at it, you might want to check the tolerance on your accelerator cable as well.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll probably clean the tb as soon as I get the gaskets. Do I need to add somekind of silicone along with the gasket or is just the gasket fine? One other question, what exactly goes into cleaning the afm? Do I just take it out and clean it out with carb cleaner and wd-40 the thing?

Use throttle body cleaner and not just carb cleaner. Take it all apart and spray and scrub with a rag if you can. Try and clean off all the cleaner too.
