Title: So fresh, so clean
Post by: Eurospec on November 11, 2006, 02:07:38 AM
Finally got around to having my car detailed. The process involved a thorough wash, claying, polishing to remove bird dropping etches on the roof and a good amount of swirls, and lastly a wax paste (Meguiar's NXT) resulting in a wet look shine. I'm extremely happy with the results. Not bad for a 15 yr old car :) Take a look.

Good job! I really love your car man! I know that I said I wanted your exhaust, but I really want your wheels more. Sorry about not following through with the exhaust, I just have some other needs for my car first.

Took them off for the detail. The plate filler is back on along with the stock spoiler. The mtech 1 is safely placed away for the winter.

Car looks amazing.  Is that a chrome tip on the exhaust or is that part of a new exhaust system?

i believe thats one the few supersprint exhausts still around...

what kind of tires are you running? 205's or 225's? They look wider than the setup on my car.

225/50's. Are you running Ziex's as well?

Nice DS paint. Do you get snow where you live? I've decided since this is my "daily beater" to leave my Mtech1 and IS lip on all year, including snow. ;)

No snow here, thank gawd! Do you know if BMW sells a gasket or weather stripping for rear spoilers? My bare mtech wing left a bunch of gunk and I'd like to prevent this from happening in the future, especially now that I've treated the area under where it sits.

I've never bother finding out but know exactly what you mean. My used spoiler came with double sided 3m autobody tape but I stripped that all off and just used a bead of silicone to prevent that. Silicone comes off a lot easier than the 3m tape should I ever need to remove it.

On a semi-related note, I just got my rears tinted and the tint idiot began to push my car from the rear spoiler. You should've seen my face. It seemed like it held up pretty good though. I was just worried since the spoiler is made out of foam and didn't want to tear any of the mounting points.
